Blending Grade II listed with modern upgrades: Revitalising Hornsey Library, creating a fresh, up to date and cherished community space.

The Hornsey Library refurbishment rejuvenated this 1965 Grade II listed building. Works included roof replacement, new curtain walling, solar panels, extensive M&E upgrades, and a full interior remodel. We preserved iconic features, while modernising with bespoke lighting and a new children’s section. The library stayed operational during much of the project, showcasing our expertise in live-site management. The project shortlisted for numerous awards, winning the Haringey Design Awards category for Better BuildingStandards, underscoring our commitment to delivery excellence.

Hornsey Library now stands as a high-quality example of fusing heritage with modern sustainability. We ensured historical integrity throughout the works including smart upgrades, like solar array and enhanced insulation. This transformation has created an inviting, efficient, and accessible environment for the local community, families and generations of library-goers.
