We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the “Social Spaces” project for LSHTM.
This 1,168m² transformation has revitalised the Keppel Street campus, introducing a state-of-the-art industrial kitchen and refectory, stylish bar, refreshed social areas, and standout “Big Step” space.
The design concept and materials selected remain true to the Listed Building's 1929 heritage, creating an open, welcoming area, along with the Pumphandle Social space, named after Dr. John Snow, one of the founders of modern epidemiology, a key feature of the Estates Master Plan. This new space will become a vibrant hub for the campus community to enjoy.
“It was a pleasure to work with T&B and the team that was assembled for the project and we hope to have the opportunity to work together on other schemes” - John Starmer, Director of Estates
Our team are proud to have partnered with Mortimer Isaacs Consultancy, Rock Townsend, Peter Hayman, Troup Bywaters + Anders, Integral Engineering Design, along with our supply chain to support LSHTM’s vision, and deliver a space that blends history, modern design, and people.
