We are thrilled to announce that our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) scheme at Berrywood Hospital has been recognised with multiple accolades at the 27th Building Better Healthcare Awards.
These prestigious awards celebrate innovation and excellence in healthcare design, technology, and delivery, and we are proud to see our work acknowledged among the best in the industry.
· Gold: Best Mental Health/Dementia Care Development 🥇
· Gold: Best Interior Design Project (New Build) 🥇
· Silver: Best Healthcare Development under £25 million 🥈
The Sett, Berrywood’s CAMHS unit, was redesigned from an outdated ward into a modern, therapeutic space. The refurbishment introduced:
· Open communal areas to support social interaction
· Dedicated art and education zones
· A calming breakout lounge for emotional regulation
Delivered within a live hospital and a constrained PFI estate, the project required close coordination and careful planning. Sustainable materials and thoughtful design choices helped create a space that improves patient experience without large-scale structural changes.
This recognition reflects our commitment to designing mental health environments that are functional, compassionate, and supportive of recovery.
